Please join KTN on 10 May for an exciting showcase of Transport Location Data Innovation and networking.
In September 2020, the Geospatial Commission funded a £2 million SBRI: Using Geospatial Data to Solve Transport Challenges Phase 1, which was delivered in partnership with Innovate UK. The Geospatial Commission is an expert committee that sets the UK’s geospatial strategy and promotes the best use of geospatial data. Enabling Innovation is a key mission of the UK Geospatial Strategy.
For this competition, lead organisations were asked to partner with a public sector challenge owner throughout the project to solve real world problems.
Nearly 200 projects entered the competition. The winning 28 projects were funded up to £75k to carry out 3 month feasibility studies to test their ideas in one of the following four thematic areas:
- Promoting Active Travel
- Increasing capacity
- Enabling Mobility as a Service
- Optimising Supply Chains
Phase 1 is now complete and we have some extremely exciting findings which we would like to share with you on May 10th. The KTN and Innovate UK are hosting an event on behalf of the Geospatial Commission to give each of the winning 28 projects an opportunity to briefly explain their innovations. We will be joined by senior guest speakers from the Commission and there will be ample networking time (albeit virtually) to ask questions and make valuable connections. The day will be split up into several sessions so you can join us for the whole day, or the sessions of most interest to you.
